I've seen it, and as far as I could see the people living in Ember were perfectly happy with their lot, EXCEPT that they were running out of resources because the city had gone far beyond it's designed lifespan. Well, that and the people who designed the exit were high on acid or something.
Give a man a fire, and you keep him warm for a day. SET a man on fire, and you will keep him warm for the rest of his life...
