I love biotechnology.

Only takes 10-15 years for a footbridge to be built/grown. I'll admit it does save some effort (since you only need to make the first cuts in the trunk, which guides the roots), but it does encourage long-term thinking. The other benefits of limited self-repair and getting stronger over time do help as well.

Fascinating to see, but I'll only really be impressed when I see biobridges capable of supporting the weight of a crossing freight train.

I don't know. Seems to Wraith-ish or Vong-ish to me.
