Up until the point that we're nuked into oblivion, yeah.

I hope we wouldn't be too stupid and try to attack those with the ultimate high ground.

I would hope that the last thing governments would do would be try to mistreat alien visitors. No matter how helpless THIS bunch may be, hurting them is sure to piss off the rest of their species to some extent... with the rest of their species probably having a military capacity that ranges somewhere from "better than us" up to "almost as good as god".

I'd think governments would be falling over themselves to be as friendly as possible.

I wouldnt be in the least bit surprised if a religion was formed around them.

Well, if we have people trying to form religions around Avatar, I'd be amazed if these aliens didn't have cults springing up across the world.

OH YES....Great point little bro.

I can see twits forming cults and so forth around the "Promised Return" or some nonsense.

Geez.........what would the aliens THINK of us? Some want to kiss there asses, some want to worship them as gods, some wants to be friends, some want to attack, some likely could care less.

How do you think Earth's racists would take that????? :happydevil:

well here's another scenario:

What if this race isn't super advanced like we've been assuming. What if their only just a step or two up from us, and we're the first planet with life they've discovered outside their own. How do the people of earth respond to religions being formed around us?
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Or, to make things weirder, the aliens might think that WE are the gods.

Hopefully, the aliens would wipe them out first :)

FC though. What if the aliens were simply just like us? Their space faring tech was just a huge rocket to break free of their planet's gravity and a space shuttle type spacecraft with rocket boosters and their ship somehow gets rapidly transported to our solar system by some sort of mad old indescribable event (think 'VOY; One Small Step) and essentially, there's nothing really new we could teach each other. How would just knowing that we weren't alone in the universe affect mankind?

The indescribable event may or may not be able to be repeated, no one knows...

Interesting point, Harry. Big letdown for those seeking enlightenment, there.

Them: "Dunno. That's what we came here to ask you!"
