After looking at it again, we could do just as much with the Mycolith thing as we could with the Goomba, as in the huge size change from humans, I think change from the normal stereotypical Trek aliens would be interesting, since we always complain about them.

None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

Something else.

We're only stealing the basic form of the thing. Don't want Wizards of the Coast suing us.

Besides - I really don't want to end up using an Earth term for "fungus" making up a part of the name for a completely alien species. That's almost as bad as naming an alien empire after a hero from Roman mythology.

Oh, wait... :bangwall:

Okay, okay, no Roman names.

So how about the Boadecian Star Alliance?

Why does it even need to have 'star' in it? Star Empire sounds lame anyway.

Or naming a squid-like race after calamari?

OK, one person got it. Thanks, Lazar.

It doesn't. My reference was that using a name for our race with "myco-" in it is as absurd as having the Romulan Star Empire, "Romulus" being a reference to Earth mythology.
