The same VP candidate who strongarmed a worker at a soup kitchen to let him in, while the facility was closed and against the wishes of the manager, to "wash" a clean pot for 15 minutes in order to get a photo op.

Sad as it is, if this is the best the GOP can manage, maybe they should have just sat this election out. Give them time to prep a better option to run. Bring up someone young who has a clean slate so they don't get absolutely trashed anytime someone questions their history.

I've been hearing an interesting theory by some republicans that they purposefully put a center republican in the running and want him to loose as a catalyst to swing the party more far right and shift power to the tea party.

If they cant swing the party they might split between conservative and center, the center republicans would pick up quite a with center democrats and you'd be left with a fairly equal three party system.

Well that is just a plain out stupid plan. If they tank the election and try to swing even more in the angle that cost them this election. They'll give up their hold in the Congress and the balance of power will shift to the DNP. The Tea Party is nothing more then the GOP's whipping post. Much like the "Minority Council" is for the DNP.

I think that's ridiculous. The Tea Party only holds as much ground as it does because of contemporary events of the past 4 - 6 years. Losing an election - even intentionally - adds another 4 years to the time that the Tea Party has to try to maintain momentum without any actual impetus, and I don't think ANYONE believes that the Tea Party can maintain a statistically-significant constituency over another administration or two.
