If i was married happily, with money and with the wife's permission I might do one of the Trek ones.

If you were married happily and then spent $10,000 on a Trek-themed home theater, you subsequently wouldn't be married happily.

See, I'm not planning on getting married (or ever even dating for that matter :takecover: ) so I want one of the Trek ones.

Well, you may be happy, but probably not married anymore, unless you get a girl who is just as nerdy as you are, in which case, it could make the marriage better, lol

I could probably get away with a Firefly themed one, as long as I had a huge naked Inara somewhere on a wall.

Booyah.

Your wife rocks. I'm not getting married unless I can find a girl who shares at least most of my interests, is hot, and likes that sort of "entertainment".

Which means "probably not at all" since the only two I know are taken.

By losers. :?

My new girl friend is by and has posters of naked chicks. And she loves threesomes.

Okay, revised. A girl has to share most of my interests, be hot, like dirty entertainment, and also like monogamy. Threesomes are fine, as long as I'm one of the three, and I know about it before the fact.

I want a Blake's 7 version - lets face it, the show was that low budget it can't cost that much to recreate the set.

Oh, and voice control :-

"Orac, replay Wrath of Khan for us"
"I am the most advanced computer ever created - my carrier beams are not designed to act as a remote control"
"Just do it Orac"

Or how about a Tardis version - a full sized Cinema in your boxroom.
"You ain't gonna get off down the trail a mile or two, and go missing your wife or something, like our last cook done, are you?"
"My wife is in hell, where I sent her. She could make good biscuits, but her behavior was terrible."

Meh. I'd put the money in education funds.

I think it's a given that if we're dropping 10K+ on a home cinema that we already have that covered. ;)

Hardly. Or rather, it's a given if we're doing it. The human race as a whole, on the other hand, is not famous for getting its priorities straight.

Yeah, I was specifically referring to us. Most of the regular population can't even properly budget their money.

If we HAD the money, and were living together, my wife would TOTALLY let me have a room like that. Seriously, she would. Of course, her parents (having the old school Japanese belief in the frugality of money) would disown both of us immediately, and likely hire a hit man, to give her a second chance

I like #3 and #5 (Trek) ones. I don't like ones with a lot of red in them, and I Like :takecover: the Death Star.
