Perhaps someone who has VOY on DVD could take a look? I haven't seen it since they stopped showing reruns... in 2002 or so.

From what I have seen in the past month (been watching Voyager in my free time... go ahead, feel sorry for me), the symbol hasn't appeared in any of the Borg episodes... at least not clearly enough for me to see. Of course, I haven't been looking for it.

I'm going to assume it was unique to Lore's Borg.

That DOES make more sense than the Borg proper.

Hell, for all we know, it was Lore's insignia.

If I had any of the DVDs, I'd try looking for it somewhere else, but it seems like that was the only time we saw it.

Re: the Lore Borg, I've always wondered what the ship was that they were using? We've never seen another ship like that one used, and it's a lot different than the standard, nondescript geometric shapes the Borg like to fly around in.

I always imagined it was a prototype. It seemed to use transwarp in a differnet way than VOY presented - Lore's faction's ship appeared to create its own transwarp conduits, rather than simply using preexisting corridors.

I got the opposite impression - that Lore's ship was restricted to using the single conduit seen in Descent (or, more likely, a limited number of them) whereas the Voyager Borg demonstrated the ability to go where they liked. Voyager even described them as having "transwarp signatures" even while they were travelling at warp in normal space.
