Solo: A Star Wars Story Official Trailer (spoilers)

Is Chewie hugging Mala @ 1:32? Is that the Mala from the Star Wars Christmas Special?

No, she was in the Black Fleet Crisis books, among others. There's never been a Star Wars Christmas Special.

The powers that be have attempted to write her out of history, after it was discovered that it was Mala who provided Princess Leia with all that cocaine for the Ewok Light Festival...

"Since when do you know how to fly?"
"..."
"A hundred and ninety years old? You look GREAT!"

I have to admit, the first few shots in the trailer made me think, "Okay, who decided to make Han Solo a CGI char- wait, that's a real actor? he looks like some old guy got CGI'd like the terrible young Tony Stark or young Hank Pym"... He just looked a bit too... artificial. Weird. Or maybe its that its a shot in the desert and aside from the hair he looks a little too... clean and not dehydrated. I think. I dunno, can't figure it out but it does look off. (0:14 seconds in)

Also I'm not feeling the vibe with the new young lando. I mean, the actor is a great actor, but doesn't really sell that this is a younger version of the smooth-talker we met in Empire Strikes Back.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The only acceptable Han Solo origin story is "Smokey and the Bandit ... In SPACE."
