A Statement Regarding Star Wars: Episode IX

Lucasfilm and Colin Trevorrow have mutually chosen to part ways on Star Wars: Episode IX. Colin has been a wonderful collaborator throughout the development process but we have all come to the conclusion that our visions for the project differ. We wish Colin the best and will be sharing more information about the film soon.

Anybody's guess as to the truth of the "mutual decision" story. However, methinks this is a clear indication that Disney decided to go ahead before any clear definition of the film was conceived.

A friend of mine speculated that the fact that his Book of Henry film evidently crashed and burned this year may have something do with it.
