Disgraceful game that happened during it.

The X-wings skimming the water looked a little different from the earlier renders.

What a shot! Either Abrams or the cinematographer knows how to give a scene power and a scene of impending doom.

That's good analysis, but I thought I noticed something that they didn't so I'll ask you guys since maybe I just hit my head harder than I thought: isn't the jacket that Finn wears after ditching the armor pretty damned close to the one Luke wears when receiving his medal at the end of ANH?

Luke's jacket was yellow.

OK, my bad. Maybe I was looking for a connection that wasn't really there.

Is it wrong for me to root for the StormTroopers here?

Idk...I am always rooting for the underdog/cannon-fodder.

That being said...trailer looks cool.....still..I wish we whould have gotten more of a Grand Admiral Thrawn type villain instead of just another run of the mill sith lord. It is a bit of the downfall of the Star Wars universe that everyone who does evil things, or heck...is just opposed to the main character in any way....must be secretely in cahoots with the dark side of the force. Yawn...

I know that it has been joked that Stormtrooper armor is useless... but in this version the armor seems to actually look junky and useless.

In the original trilogy the armor seemed/looked so-so. In the prequels the armor actually looked better. The little that I have seen of the new stuff, it actually looks like ill-fitting, useless molded plastic.

I think that a little more effort was made toward cosmetic design history/lineage than the functionality of mythical armor which was supposed to be proof against fictional magic directed-energy bolts.

I actually just meant the look. It could be some super-duper cosmic carbon fiber like stop a truck armor, "in reality"... I just think that it looks like something that you would buy at Ikea.

Maybe that's why they miss their shots so often.

Fun Fact: If The Force Awakens takes place 30 years after Return of the Jedi, those poor guards from Jabba's sail barge are only 3% digested by the almighty Sarlacc.
