Why
The whole reason Star Wars movies are being made: Star Wars' very, very lucrative merchandising; toys, collectibles, books of all types, mugs, figurines, t-shirts, jackets, Halloween bullshit candies and wrappers, etc. This one in particular is all about buying the pieces to make different light-saber combinations. Want to have the coolest combination on the block? Your parents will have to prove they loves you buying you all the pieces that exist and will exist, just so you can be the coolest Star Wars kid on the block.

The movie itself will rake in a $1 billion at the cost of what, $400 million? The merchandising on the other hand is made dirt cheap from the hands of children in China and the Southeast Asian countries and sold at a ridiculous mark-up in America and Europe, and China now with its 300 million millionaires and having only 1 child to provide attention to.

I got nothing against toys or toy collectors by the way. Some of these toys look really nice. Only wished NECA had the rights to Star Wars. They make nice looking sculptures with reasonable resemblances. Bought myself one of their John Rambo figures.

Whenever anybody asks "why", the answer is almost invariably "money".
Give a man a fire, and you keep him warm for a day. SET a man on fire, and you will keep him warm for the rest of his life...

No. I'm too old, bitter and cynical to mess with anyone. Like a Cardassian.

Some of those combos looks like dildo shapes. Including the tickler.

I know it's for the money, and "MOYCHENDISING!" as Yogurt would say. But still, some of those... I got nothing.
