I don't understand why no U.K. or Australia/New Zealand teasers. Jedi is a religion in the U.K. for the Forces' sake.

The lightsaber... over react much? Real swords have different kinds of hilts. Some useful some decoration. Maul's double sided saber got a huge response from fandom. Even Windu's purple saber was something special. It was purple... big deal. The Sith would want to make statements both in action and appearance. Altering and varying their lightsabers would be the obvious choice.

Er...did you mean to respond to the teaser thread? If so, the photos are just meant to be fun, not a statement on lightsabers. The only thing I've said is I felt the lightsabered crossguards look more dangerous than helpful to the wielder. Couldn't it have just been a cortosis mesh?

Wrong thread, but here anyway - the problem is that a real crossguard isn't dangerous to the wielder no matter the shape. Lightsabers don't have quillons, nor do they have any differently-shaped and angled space between the grip and the top of the hilt as real swords do.

I like the theory that those are vents of some sort; the sound the blade makes and the unstable appearance lend some weight to that.
