Who do you think is the most interesting bad guy shown in the SW-EU? Not the most successful, or powerful, both of those would probably have to go to Darth Sidious.

A good bad guy should have multi facets, he's not just evil for evils sake, or for power. Despite the horrible prequels at least it showed an good journey to the dark side.

For that reason I really like Revan. I think they show a really dynamic story line for him. I might be biased as I am playing KOTOR now but I think he just makes a great bad guy.

Vader is an obvious choice with a good story. But also an obvious choice.

If it's just EU then my vote goes to Thrawn, I like what I've read of Thrawn so far and I now think you're awesome as I'm playing KoToR tonight too, lol.
However if it includes everyone ever then I like Count Dooku the aristocratic fallen Jedi, his acumen and skill turned to hubris.

I don't like Dooku, he is a interesting character but he just rubbed me the wrong way.

He can seem quite wooden at times.

As for me, Thrawn. Always liked him.

For me it's Piet, mainly because he's a typical Imperial, rather than a stereotypical one - a professional doing his job, while simultaneously putting up with a somewhat temperamental boss.

I enjoyed Piets portrayal in the films, didn't see much of him in the EU. I'd have to echo other people in the thread, Thrawn though I also find Pellaeon interesting, mostly for the same reasons Seafort cites for Piet.

Thrown was successful and imprssive, but to me he doesnt have enough layers. He doesnt have a rich back story.

I was tempted to mention Pelly in the same breath - the problem is that the way thing evolved, by the time of SotP/VotF he wasn't a villain any more, so I don't think he counts.

Pell was never a real villain, he was a man doing his job for a greater good.

LOLz but not quite. Important it remember is that not everyone in the Empire saw it as a bad thing. A lot of people, the outer rim worlds especially, saw it as a good thing. To me, this is where Pelleaon falls.

I liked Piet because he didn't get the 'Darth Vader' style of anger management. And you could see at the end when the Falcon escapes he was thinking 'dead man walking'.
