Daughter of a big cheese and one major surviving political figure to one of the galaxies pleasant people planets....she's a symbol of hope and political power for the alliance. Far from it - I'm pretty sure they were all 501st. The ones on the Tantive IV certainly were, the DS is probably disputable, but Bespin is almost dead-cert. Where Vader goes, so goes Vader's Fist.

In any event, I don't see what the quality of the troops has to do with Leia's accuracy relative to the others which, as Tsu points out, is bloody good.

The ones aboard the DS were ordered to let them escape, so there's a grain of salt there.

The ones on the Tantive IV had to take her alive, so that also filters.
