The sith didn't start as a religion. They started as a race that built an empire that was bent on taking over or destroying the known galaxy.

While they could probably qualify as a religion, they're probably seen in much the same way as the Nazi Party is seen on Earth.

Well, Jedi Order is sometime seen as a religious order, and the first Sith, in the "modern meaning", were exiled Jedi who take controll of the population of Korriban, the first Sith.

With this point of view, all of the Jedi-Sith wars looks like wars between catholic & protestant.

They're very similar - i.e. the religious angle is a superficial excuse to start a scrap, whereas the real reasons are entirely different.

Yes, religion is just a good way to kill human whitout dealing with our conscience.

It's sad no? Using the words of a man who believe in fraternity as an excuse too kill.

Or those of a man who stated that he would turn father against son and mother against daughter. That's why religion is so useful - you can cherry-pick whatever bits support your existing policy.

In Star Wars Darth Bane: Path of Destruction, page 49 of the french edition, a lieutenant of the Army of the Galactic Republic said:
"Some time after Revan and Malak bring destruction to the Galaxy, the Senate has voted a law to ban the Siths.

That was a rather random comment to come out of nowhere, into a thread inactive since April :?
They say that in the Army,
the women are mighty fine.
They look like Phyllis Diller,
and walk like Frankenstein.

Given that this particular religion has "kill all Jedi and conquer the galaxy" as one of its key tenants, I don't see the problem.
This is slander! These aren't "real Siths". Sith religion is about Love, to the other and to the Force. Those who go and commit genocides in name of the Sith aren't real Sith!
