In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Aye, it makes no sense. If they had the plans, why the hell would they bring them to the most heavily fortified instalation in the Empire? And why would they give them to an Imperial prisoner? It makes no sense!

I always took it to mean that they were trying to return the plans to Alderaan. I never thought about the fact that anyone who had the plans would have known she'd been kidnapped.
