KT did do a good job on "Hard Contact", where it had the 4 clones trying to do a commando style raid on a nanovirus plague research center.

So she can write good fiction, if she only has to concentrate on a few characters. Anything more than that, and it gets sad.

I agree, I really liked Hard Contact. Onto the second Commando book right now...

Hard Contact, her first book, was very good. It was sometime after that book that the whole 3 million clones idiocy came up, and after that she just seemed to lose it, using her books purely to further her agenda in a way that became more and more blatant with each book she wrote.

She can write, when she wants to. But actual quality has taken a back seat to pushing her own view of the Clone Wars.

She should just start from scratch. And start a Mandelorian series focusing on them during the height of their power.

A million full members, 50 million colonies, dependencies, protectorates, etc.

If I had to somehow write a story and work with HER silly numbers, I'd call clarify 3 million active duty front line "Riflemen". Then explain how that didn't take into account active duty front line support personnel such as artillary, air support, cavalry, and so forth. Also discounting reserve, guard, injured, and sector defense units.

I could easily justify correcting her numbers that way I think, as nobody held her words as law.

(How could she have figured those numbers are realistic? That's like a tenth of a trooper per planet)

Even 3 million front line infantry is far too low.

I would focus on the "active duty" part. As in 3 million fighting at any given time, and I agree it's low.............but trying to find a way to justify something that's just plain silly, is tricky
