Okay, so the idea of it is brilliant to develop, and calling it infeasible in sci-fi is a little bit absurd, seeing as its all possible in the world of Star Wars. (Super Star Destroyer built into a city-block, underneath the ******* Imperial capital). Molecular armor just seems to add another bit of technobabble to a series that already has enough to make anyone cringe, and the thought of it might be more practical than a farking Death Star... ya know?
Well yeah my take on it its not completely impossible for the Star Wars Galaxy its just that there wasn't anything prior to the technology. Kind of like the Galaxy Gun or Night Cloak or Eye of Palpatine. There's nothing that predates that super weapon. It just sort of appears. Outside of Centerpoint Station and the Force which uses a totally different kind of methods there's nothing about stars being destroyed in Star Wars (ironic). We've never heard of a mass to energy bomb before for the Galaxy Gun. We've never heard of a Brain washing program up to the scale that it was on the Eye of Palpatine (another crappy book). We've never seen armor made like the Suncrusher either. These super weapons just come into being with nothing that predates them. I wouldn't mind so much if we'd heard of this super armor elsewhere but we simply don't.
How many Minbari does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.
