Dragon Ball was inspired by one of the most famous far east novels, Journey to the West. Son Goku is, after all, Japanese for Sun Wukong the monkey king.

Well, there you go. I was thinking of the Indian incarnation Harriman, but six of one, half a dozen of the other.

Well, it has been unofficial for a while.
I second that.

Back on topic then.

I wonder how many of these would it take to destroy a ISD.

They seem to be good for anti-star fighter defense not so much for ship to ship fighting.
How many Minbari does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

Corellian Gunships have *eight* dual turbolaser cannons, made for clear ship to ship fighting.

Yeah, if we go my those WEG stats. Remember that the Tantive IV was absolutely no threat to Vader's ISD and IIRC the turbolasers on this thing are similar to the CR90.

Those turbolasers would be fine if these were used en masse - but it would have to be one hell of big mob to goe toe-to-toe with an ISD.

Exactly, might be hard to find a fleet with enough of them barring act of plot.

A "big mob" being hundreds of thousands - a corvette/gunship's main guns are probably light turbolasers, given that the Devastator's LTL shots seemed pretty evenly matched against the Tantive IV's shields. According to the AotC ICS, this puts them in the low MT range. An ISD's guns are in the low PT range, based on the fact that the much smaller VenStar's guns were in the high TT range.

I see. Not being a big EU fan or techie, I wasn't really aware of the disparity in types of turbolasers. I do know that the Tantive IV might as well have being shooting spitballs at the ISD, but I didn't know that it was the same armament as the DP20.

I thought those weapons it carried were rated mainly for anti-starfighter defense...

A flak burst from a LTL is a pretty good way to hit a starfigter, no? Heck even the DS heavy guns downed one or two in ANH.
