Major spoiler in the teaser above. Click at your own risk. I am talking plot point spoiler. I can't believe someone decided to release that as a promo.

A new Star Trek movie confirmed.

They must be pretty confident in Beyond...

Giving away the killer of a murder mystery is a spoiler. Letting people know who the characters in the movie are... really isn't a spoiler of anything... at all.
Ugh... do not thump the Book of G'Quan...

Kinda, but overall doesn't 'spoil' anything. Makes me wanna see it more.

Oh. Guess I overreacted then. I'll go look in a mirror and cry.

Or just that their earlier successes have given them enough confidence to keep going regardless of whether Beyond turns out to be a lemon. It isn't like the original sets of movies didn't have their missteps.

Though I wonder if announcing it now isn't meant to make people think they're confident in Beyond and thus make them more likely to want to see it.

A prequel of the reboot. Meta.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Incidentally... I screencapped the first shot of that trailer.

Image

So the rim of that saucer is approximately 54 feet thick.

Can we all please stop pretending that this ship is only 300 metres long now?

(I know people here don't generally claim that. I mean fandom as a whole.)

Personally I would rather have the ship back at the 300 meter range, but the movies do show the ship being twice that.

It's worth pointing out that one of the big complaints about a big ship was "How could the Federation build such large structures at this point in time?"

Um, well, I don't want to be spoilery, but suffice to say that if that is your objection, you're really, REALLY not going to like some aspects of this movie.

Star Trek Beyond actors are asked, "What's the best Star Trek Movie?' Just listen to Karl Urban's answer.

https://youtu.be/NKOho71qX0c?t=4m52s

Edit: The video is set to start at the 4:52 mark, so you can see/hear the question being asked, then it goes directly to the Star Trek Beyond cast answering the question. Karl Urban comes in at 5:30.
