Been reading the reviews of the new movie. A full on, bulls to the wall Dreadnought.

If the next movie is ST: Klingon War, we are gonna see some curb stomping, this seems as if it could take on a Neg'Var.

Please use spoiler tags if you are talking about actual things that happen in the movie. If you are just speculating then you don't need to.
Thanks

Didn't really think that was a spoiler... How do I spoil? I tried playing with it but the preview always just came up with the code showing.

Highlight your information and then press the spoiler button. Should end up looking like this (without the spaces):

[ Spoiler ] stuff [ /Spoiler ]

Would show like this:
stuff
ps. The spoiler button is only available if you use the Full Editor and not the Quick Reply. You can still type the tags yourself.

This early in the airing of the movie it's best to be on the safe side:
Dreadnought is part of the description that Khan gives of the new ship to Kirk.

Was it released early in Europe or something? Lots of screenings?

Edit: Ah, so a lot of you are in Sydney?

Interestingly, we don't actually see an awful lot of the Vengeance in action. We see it firing, but it's the exact same 'cascade of rapid fire red pulses' that the Enterprise produces. And no close ups of the weapons shooting or anything, so you can't see if they are doing anything funky. But most of the action concerning the ship takes place inside.
Give a man a fire, and you keep him warm for a day. SET a man on fire, and you will keep him warm for the rest of his life...

Is their a real life model of it or is it pure CGI?
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

There's certainly a small, say 1 foot long, model of it that is seen on an office during the film. As to a real shooting model I doubt it.

Since the FX shots are almost certainly CGI, they wouldn't spend the money making a real life model and then compositing it in when they can just make a computer model to begin with.

You can lazer scan a model and then add texturing rather quick nowadays, thats how a lot of Lord of the Rings was done.

Doubtful they did that. Last movie they just made a 1:1 scale model CGI model of it. I guess there is a way of doing it that way.

Anyway my guess is that they made this ship just like how they made the Neo-E-nil.

Me too. I loved the special features of the Lord of the Rings when they were showing the giant models. Its becoming a lost art now.
