I have two questions about the film.
1) That 'motorcycle cop' chasing young, delinquent Kirk. What was he, like human with armour on? Why the faceplate?
2) Who was that blue, fishface hotty on the bridge of the Big E who turned around and looked at Sulu in surprise when he forgot to take off the handbrake?

We talked about this, I think. I'd have to guess human, judging by the surprise Data still elicited in the TNG era. That I can understand but why the fancy old robot face configuration of it? I'm about 90% certain he's a guy in a suit. Actually if you listen to his "What is your name" in the movie, it's rather less robotic than in the trailer. And the way he moves just looks really human. None of that proves he actually is, but human is my strong impression.
As for why the mask, who knows. Some sort of motorcycle helmet and head up display OF THE FUTURE!

In addition to harry's blue girl, there was the nurse attending Kirk's mom in the opening scene with normal skin tone but clearly alien features. This Trek film certainly had more and better aliens than any other!
The moto-cop did look cool, too (and it's not like Abrams didn't put a little effort into making the movie "cool"). A friend of mine noted that he never identified himself or his precinct (or futuristic equivalent) either, but then he was surely operating under different laws. I do wonder about something else, though, now that the hoverbike is mentioned: exactly how would he have securely taken young Kirk in?
