Three :Q 's in one explanation

Its the futures version of "no comment"
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Captain Seafort wrote:Good for them. This way they'll effectively be able to do whatever they like, while being explicit that this isn't trying to overwrite TOS, but merely depict what might have happened had some past events turned out differently.
Agreed.

This really raises my hopes as well. At least they have a reason more than simply giving it a new look and a new "vision" like the new BSG.
I still think the alt-E-nil is ugly though.
Disagreed.

The main thing I really don't like about the alternate E-nil is the curvy nacelle pylons. Ewwww

Now, will they be true to the era? I hope so.

I was referring specifically to my fears about the E-Nil engaging Nero's uber-ship. It was mentioned before (by Seafort I think, but I could be wrong) that it would really suck if Kirk beat him by doing something like "re-tuning" the phasers or some other ENT like nonsense. I'm really hoping this movie WON'T have TNG tech to ruin the TOS feel.

I see. Good point.

It might though, if Spock is taking back upgraded plans for the E-nil. :?

I doubt he'd do that. There's the whole temporal PD to get around.

Yeah.......Spock AIN'T Janeway. He's not self serving enough to wipe out an entire timeline for his own gain.

I don't have a problem with the saucer, or really with the various pylons and the nacelles. The really ugly bit is the engineering hull - it's far too small relative to the rest of the ship for it to look balanced.

I like the look of it save for the connector between the saucer and engineering hulls. And, the e-hull is too short.

More importantly, will Kirk's shirt rip in this movie? :happydevil:

It was pretty long in TOS, and got a tad shorter in TMP. And even shorter in ST:XI

OH, we still don't know this movie's subtitle do we?!?!?
