Deepest ever submarine dive

Post by Graham Kennedy »

Source

So an American sub has broke the deepest sub dive record, going all the way to the bottom of the Marianas Trench.

They didn't find any giant sharks down there. They did find a bunch of plastic waste, though. The highest mountain in the world is covered in corpses, the deepest trench in the world is littered with plastic crap. Yay us. :(

On the one hand, great technical achievement. On the other hand, fuck the garbage down there.

In our urge to set new records, I wonder if someone will go down in a submersible equipped with a shovel at some point.

On another note, I remembered the sub called Trieste.

I'd forgotten deep sea explorer Jacques Piccard .

Coincidence?

Nope, they named Jean-Luc Picard after Jacques Piccard.

Funny I would go on one of those space missions you can buy for a few hundred grand at the drop of a hat.

But you couldnt pay me enough to go on that sub.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Clearly in WW III, Britain conquered most of Europe. About time too.

There is no need for the French anyway.
