RIP Monty Hall

Post by T'Pau »

"Hall, the genial host and co-creator of “Let’s Make a Deal,” the game show on which contestants in outlandish costumes shriek and leap at the chance to see if they will win the big prize or the booby prize behind door No. 3, died at his home in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Saturday. He was 96. Mr. Hall kept “Let’s Make a Deal” moving for most of almost 5,000 broadcasts on NBC, on ABC and in syndication. The show ended its original daytime run in 1976 on ABC."

I have fond memories of the show, watching afternoons when I was home sick from school. Seeing all the crazy dressed up people, hoping to win the big prize behind door number 1, 2, or 3. Sometimes getting zonked with a farm animal instead of a car, or getting $100 for showing you had some small item like a safety pin in your purse.

RIP Monty, I hope you didn't get zonked when your chosen door opened at the end.

My mother loves watching 'Let's Make a Deal' on the Game Show Network. And I pop in and watch them with her, too. It's a fun show. Thanks, Monty.
