'Beautiful Mind' John Nash dies in car crash

Post by Captain Picard's Hair »

Story

I never read the book and can't say how (in-)accurate the movie may be (aside from the casting: whatever qualities Russel Crowe may have as an actor his physique certainly gives Nash an awful lot of credit) but the man had quite the ride in life either way. A while ago my psychiatrist suggested I consider the story (by extension, the actual life of John Nash) as an inspiration; though I can't say it had a great impact on my life I still often think of it.
"If you can't take a little bloody nose, maybe you ought to go back home and crawl under your bed. It's not safe out here. It's wonderous, with treasures to satiate desires both subtle and gross... but it's not for the timid." Q, Q Who

That's a real shame. I guess you could say he did get to have a long and full life, but going out that way... :(
Give a man a fire, and you keep him warm for a day. SET a man on fire, and you will keep him warm for the rest of his life...

While his contributions to economics and game theory are phenomenal, so is the fact that public opinion tends to exonerate him of things like abandoning is pregnant girlfriend and his arrest for indecent exposure.
