1235:

Ferringo tells the gunship pilot to land and the craft settles down by the remains of the cockpit. It's immediately apparent that the Overseer did not survive, the shuttle windows are coated in a slime that is slowly dissolving the remains of the upholstery and controls. His odd weapon lays a feet to the side, damaged but functional.

Phebia climbs out of the gunship when it lands. She carries her bolter with her as she approaches the wreckage ready for an incident but it is soon apparent there will be none. "Praise be to Him who guides us," she intoned quietly. "He has guided out hands in this to bring ruin to his enemies." Looking at the cockpit she grimaces. "We should burn the remains."

"We can just get the gunship to unload its ordinance on the cockpit section. That should wipe out any trace of it." Karibi replied, picking his way through the wreckage. One particular item amongst the detritus had caught his eye: the Overseer's weapon. Hesitantly, the Adept picked the weapon up, doing his best not to set the thing off. One look at the weapon's controls made it clear to Marco that he hadn't a clue how to use the thing. Still, he figured there was no point in just leaving it around, so he made his way back to the others, trying to decypher the weapon's workings.

Enrick unclipped himself and raced out of the gunship, his stubber cupped. "Before we burn it, lets search it." Enrick moved around the downed craft. Checking and rechecking for trouble.

1236 - "With pleasure, Trask answered Phebia. He racked a blazer shell and, as soon as Karibi was clear, fired a gout of flame towards the cockpit and waited until the craft was alight. Walking over to Karibi, Milo leaned in and spoke so that only the adept could hear. "Surely you'll hand that item over to the Ordos, adept?"

Enrick lowered his weapon. "Right, so much for intel."

"Of course." Karibi replied to the psyker, mildly surprised at Trask's sudden intervention. "I've not got the faintest idea how to use the thing anyway, so it's of no use to me. I'll hand it over to him before we part ways, though I'd like to take a look at it myself, first."

"If the foul thing left anything behind it would likely be in the crypt beneath the cathedral. I doubt he would have left anything on that shuttle."

"Though there may still be items left abandoned in the hanger itself." Karibi replied to Phebia, turning away from Trask and pocketing the Overseer's weapon. "It may be worth investigating. At the very least, we should check to make sure that no more of those creatures are down there."

Phebia nodded. "We should inspect the hanger and backtrack to the cathedral. Search the crypt beneath it. Once we have satisfied that this heresy is at an end we burn it all and bury the remains."

"Agreed then, the hanger is next." Enrick turned and jogged towards the hangers entrance point. "Troopers, ON ME!"

1236 Day 3 Haxta

As Phebia followed Enrick towards the hangar Haxta tagged along. Though she was mildly disturbed by the destruction of the shuttle she was almost eager to see what the Overseer might have had tucked away.

"Right, let's get going." Karibi said, drawing his pistol. After a moment's hesitation, he ran back to the landed gunship for his rucksack before hurrying after the others.

Karibi finished his brief check of the remains of the hanger, holstering his revolver once he was satisified that the area was safe.

"Haxta, there're some bins filled with mechanical stuff over on that side." He told the tech-priest, pointing. "You may want to check them out. There's also a void-suit and a few lockers down the end there. I suggest you grab what you want quickly so that we can get back to check on the ruins. Last thing we need is to get back and find a small army of those things have broken out and started another battle back there." He added to the others. He'd not found much that had interested him, so after tossing a few abandoned data-slates left lying in the rubble into his rucksack he headed back out to the gunship to wait on the others.

Haxta hurried to the bins Karibi had pointed out and quickly began to rummage through them, carefully categorizing the pieces she found before stuffing them in her rucksack.

Phebia headed for the lockers, testing them to see if they'd open.

1240, Day Two - "Here," Trask called gruffly. He shone his lamp-pack into a small alcove in the cave, indicating a codifier machine with a tray full of data-slates. Next to it stood a void-suit and a toolbox. "They're encrypted; unless the gadget-girl can crack them, we should bag 'em and tag 'em."
