"Sir, two Klingon warbirds are decloaking ahead of us." The helmsman said looking at Captain B.

"What are they doing this far inside Federation Space? Hail them!" Captain B replied.

"Sir! They're charging weapons! Their firing!" The Science officer yelled from behind the Captain.

"Raise Shields! Return Fire, and Hail the Defiant!" Captain B Ordered as the ship rocked with the first blow

Turn 1 - Conn

Captain Nick is quick to act and orders his vessel to charge forward at the Akira Class ship. The ship surges forward quickly closing the distance between the two vessels. On the Thor Captain Seafort must smiles as his he orders the exact same thing, sending his vessel forward toward the distant Akira class vessel.

As the two Klingon ships close on his ally, Captain Stitch orders the ship rotated 90* up to point the belly of the ship at the enemy vessels. The helmsman puzzled executes the order perfectly reorientation the ship. Meanwhile the Captain radios to the shuttle bay and orders the Delta Flyer to be launched. Unfortunately the shuttle bay doors stick and refuse to open.

Over on the Akira Class Captain BIG watches in horror as the Defiant rotates and without warning hurls his glass of tea across the room shattering it just behind the head of his Helmsman. Turning to the man he orders the ship to back up and maintain a distance of at least 350,000KM from the two Klingon ships. The helmsman frantically reaches for the controls but having the glass shards shoot past his face must have dazed the poor boy as the ship just barely manages to stay out of range of the Vor'cha's weapons.

Turn 1 - Tac

Frustrated at the predicament Captain Big turns to his tactical officer and orders a full volley of torpedoes with wide and regular dispersal patterns. The Officer quickly works the controls and 32 torpedoes streak out from the Akira class ship all headed straight for the Vor'Cha. Unfortunately the range was too great for many of them as only 7 connect with the ship. The first three barely hit slamming into the starboard side knocking the shields down to 106,500TJ. The following four torpedoes slam home square on the forward shields of the Klingon ship knocking the shields down to a meager 26,500TJ.

On the Defiant Class ship, Captain Stitch meagerly radios to the transporter rooms to try and send a Boarding party to the Thor, however with the shields up the range is too great to get a lock on the ship.

The two Klingon warbirds once again execute the exact same orders as they open up a full volley of torpedoes in standard formation at the JPJ. The Vor'cha launches first, but watches as all four of it's torps sail wide of the ship. The Thor launches next, and a sinking feeling settles in on Captain Seafort as he watches the first six sail wide of the ship, but in a miracle shot, the last two are dead on for the ship. The phaser arrays on the Akira light up as they try to hit the torpedoes and knock them out before impact but the tac officer isn't fast enough and both torpedoes slam home on the Port shields knocking them down to 152,750TJ.

Damage report:
Vor'Cha:
Total shield strength down to 2,079,000TJ (253,167 each)

IKS Thor: None

USS Devastator: None

USS John Paul Jones:
Total Shield Capacity down to 1,716,500TJ (286,083 each)

Turn 2 - Conn

The Klingon Captains again issue identical orders that send their ships lurching forward at the Akira Class John Paul Jones.

Captain Big watches as the war-birds continue to try and close and quickly, but calmly, tells his helmsman to put them into reverse, and stay out of the disruptor's range. The Akira class quickly slides backwards, her increased speed even allowing it to increase it's distance to the Thor.

Meanwhile on the Devastator, Captain Stitch seems to have finally arrived at the battle and orders his helmsman to get on the Negh'Var's flank. The helmsman works the controls skilfully, moving in a majestic arc to bring the ship closer and reorient it's head to face the Negh'Var.

Turn 2 - Tac

As the ships maneuver around, Captain Stitch orders the pulse phasers fired at the Thor. The cannons come to life streaming phaser fire at the large Negh'Var class ship. The beams hit home on the Starboard shields knocking them down to 280,000TJ but causing no further damage. Stitch then orders a full volley of torpedoes fired down range at the Vor'cha. The two Phtoton torpedoes shoot out but don't come anywhere close to the distant targets. The Quantum Torpedoes are next and a miraculous 6 of 8 torpedoes find the mark. The first three slam home on the ship's starboard shields quickly collapsing them and dealing 106,833TJ damage to the starboard wing. knocking it down to 599,981 TJ integrity and destroying a Mark 12 disruptor. The next three slam into the forward shields, collapsing those as well and hitting the head section knocking it down to 599,981 TJ integrity as well as destroying the tractor beam emitter.

The John Paul Jones then launches it's own salvo of torpedoes at the Vor'cha, with the first set on wide despersal. 6 torpedoes hit the ship, the first three hit the port shields knocking them down to 13,167TJ. The other three sail through the hole opened up by the Devastator with two hitting the starboard wing and the third hitting the head knocking those sections down to 439,981 TJ and 519,981 TJ respectively and destroying the two torpedo launchers on the starboard wing. Next two volleys of torpedoes come on regular dispersion, the first goes wide but the second hit's home landing three torpedoes. The first hits the crippled port shields taking them out and dealing 66,833TJ damage to the port wing knocking it down to 639,981 TJ but doing no further damage. The next two hit the head of the ship knocking it down to 359,981TJ and destroying the disruptor there.

Before the devistating effects to the ship, Captain Nick is able to send off a full salvo of it's own torpedoes launching 4 photons at the JPJ. 2 of the torps hit striking the forward shields knocking them down to 166,083TJ strength but causing no further damage.

Captain Seafort orders his starboard weapons unloaded on the small defiant craft and knocking it's forward shields down to 191,000TJ. He then orders his forward torpedoes launched at the Akira, 6 torpedoes streak toward the ship, but a mix of skill and luck allows the tactical officer to hit one with the phasers en route, and only 5 torpedoes strike the craft, the first two hitting the forward shields and knocking them down to a mere 6,083TJ but doing no more. The other three hit the port shields knocking them down to 46,083TJ and destroying a Port torpedo launcher.

Damage Report:
Vor'cha:
Foreward, Port, and starboard shields gone. Total shield strength is 759,501TJ (253,167 each)
Forward section down to 359,981TJ
Starboard section down to 439,981TJ
Port section down to 639,981TJ
Tractor Beam emitter, 2x Mark 12 Disruptors, 2 PTL's destroed.

IKS Thor:
Total shield strength down to 2,080,000 (346,667TJ each)

Turn 3 - Conn

Captain Seafort quickly orders the ship to be turned around presenting the Port shields to the Defiant Class ship. He then radios to the hanger rooms and orders a flight of shuttles launched. The ship gracefully turns in space, and as it comes to a rest, the ten shuttles of the flight are seen clearing the ship.

Captain Nick having taken quite a beating orders his ship to turn and move toward the Thor using it as a shield from the Defiant Class ship. The Vor'cha quickly glides to within a kilometer of it's ally effectively preventing the Defiant from targeting her.

Captain BIG turns to his helmsman and orders a slower reverse rate, expecting to see the Klingons charge him again. The helmsman is about to execute the order when captain BIG notices the unusual moves and yells at the helmsman to close. Unfortunately because of the confusion, the ship is only able to make it at about half speed closing to 300,000 KM.

Finally Captain Stitch orders his ship to max speed to quickly close on the Klingons and try to maneuver between them, unfortunately the small craft just isn't fast enough and only closes to ~60,000KM.

Turn 3 - Tac

Captain Big opens up with the same torpedo volley, but changes to have his phasers fired at the distant Vor'cha class ship. 11 Torpedoes strike the hull with the first hitting the head, the next two hitting the Port wing as well as the phasers, and the following eight striking the neck of the ship. The single torpedo buries deep in the wreckage of the head section lowering it to 279,000TJ integrity and simultaneously destroying the Bridge and Computer core. The Port wing is lowered to 427,000TJ and the last Type 12 Disruptor and Photon torpedo tubes are destroyed. Finally the neck is hit, destroying the transporters and then abruptly severing the neck from the rest of the hull sending the wreckage that was the head and neck sections off into the void.

Captain Stitch is next to fire targeting the new group of shuttles with his pulse phasers. The bolts streak across space striking the shuttles and destroying 3. Next the Quantum torpedoes lash out and from the range all 8 strike the Thor quickly collapsing the Port shields and striking the Port wing lowering it to 535,167TJ and destroying the Phtoton Torpedo tube, the mk 12 disruptor and the mk 18 disruptor located there.

Finally Captain Seafort opens up with his disruptors on the Defiant class which barely manages to keep it's forward shields up against the barrage. It then releases a full volley of torpedoes on the Akira class vessel but the range affects the aim as only 3 manage to hit the craft. The first to nearly collapse the forward shields and knock out the tractor beam emitter. the last strikes the port shields but cause no further damage.

Damage Report:
Vor'cha:
Foreward, Port, and starboard shields gone. Total shield strength is 759,501TJ (253,167 each)

Turn 4 - Conn

The IKS Thor is the first to act, turning it's ship around and gunning full speed for the John Paul Jones. The ship surges forward closing the distance to just 200,000KM.

Captain Big orders the ship in reverse, however the conn officer seemed to be blinded by the last flurry of torpedo flashes and fails to hit the correct controls leaving the ship sitting there.

Captain Stitch orders the ship to stay facing the Port side, and quickly executes a beauitful maneuver wrapping around the ship so it's forward sections stay trained on the Thor's unguarded Port side.

The Vor'cha Class ship sits in the emptiness of space, leaving everyone to wonder weather the ship still has the ability to move.

Finally the flight of shuttles close on the Defiant class ship, closing the range to 50,000KM.

Turn 4 - Tac

Captain Big screams at the helmsman as the Negh'Var class ship closes in on them, then in a frantic fury turns and starts yelling orders at the tactical officer. A full spread of torpedoes and phasers are ordered to fire at the approaching ship. The phasers strike out and hit the forward shields knocking them down to 294,167TJ. The torpedo tubes fire out on a standard spread at the Thor. The first four salvos go wide of the ship, but the next four find their marks. The first spread slam into the forward shields and collapse them under the barrage. The next three salvos hit the head, port wing, and starboard wing knocking those sections down to, 828,500TJ, 215,167TJ, 828,500TJ respectively. The torpedoes also disable all forward facing disruptors, and destroying the PTL on the starboard wing.

Captain Stitch senses the victory he could ensure if they disable the Thor, and orders all weapons to fire on the ship save the dorsal phaser array. Unfortunately his tactical officer seemed to have taken a brake, as the pulse phasers fail to connect with the ship. The first salvo of quantum torpedoes also fail to hit the ship, however the second one lands in tight formation, the first two hit the Port wing destroying the structure and blowing it off the ship. The next two slam into Port engineering knocking the section down to 908,500TJ. Finally the dorsal phaser array lances out at the group of shuttles destroying another one.

Captain Seafort is not to be outdone however. The port disruptors are fired at the Defiant class ship, striking the forward shields, but they still just don't have enough firepower to collapse them completely knocking them down to 122,667TJ. Next he fires on the Akira Class ship. First the Mark 12 disruptors hit the Akira's foreward shields, collapsing them and dealing 52,250TJ damage to the forward saucer. Next the Mark 18 disruptor fires striking the forward disruptor and dealing a further 300,000TJ damage leaving the section at 179,946TJ and destroying a forward facing torpedo tube. Finally the photon torpedoes are fired, and four manage to hit the ship. The first two strike the forward saucer reducing it to rubble. The next two hit the starboard section knocking it down to 372,196TJ and destroying one of the starboard facing torpedo tubes.

Finally, the shuttle captains fire their weapons on the distant Defiant Class ship. All seven shuttles land their phaser beams on the craft dealing 4200TJ damage to the Port shields. The shuttles then launch a full salvo of micro torpedoes, five strike the craft and deal 50,000 TJ damage to the Port shields.

The Vor'cha Class ship continues to sit motionless in space, unable to cloak the vessel.

Damage Report:
Vor'cha:
Foreward, Port, and starboard shields gone. Total shield strength is 759,501TJ (253,167 each)

Turn 5 - Conn

Both Federation Captains order their ships to stay in the same position relative to the Thor, to try and keep shooting through the openings in the shields.

Captain Seafort orders the ship to turn 180, training the shielded aft and starboard sections on the Akira and Defiant respectively. In an amazing feat of maneuvering, the Negh'Var class ship is able to get itself around and get it's shields between itself and its enemies again.

Captain Nick orders what remaines of his ship to turn and face the Akira class ship, despite the heavy damages, the ship is able to turn.

The flight of shuttles swoop in toward the Defiant's starboard side closing to near point blank range.

Turn 5 - Tac

Captain BIG in predictable manner turns to his helmsman and orders a full spread of the remaining forward facing weapons. The Phasers light up first shooting the deadly beam across the void and striking the Thor's aft shields knocking them down to 294,167TJ. The torpedo volleys come next, and of the seven remaining tubes four land torpedoes. The first four all slam into the aft shields dealing 320,000TJ damage and collapsing the aft shields before knocking the Central Engineering section down to 1,122,667TJ. The next three volleys spread out landing three torpedoes on Port Engineering, Starboard Engineer, Central Engineering, and the Starboard Wing. These Torpedoes destroyed both disruptors and both torpedo tubes in Port engineering. The torpedoes also cause damage to the Impulse Engine manifoldes causing minor disruptions (-1 to all conn roles until repaired)

Captain Stitch picks the moment to open up on the Starboard shields. He first opens up with a volley from his Pulse Phasers. They strike the shields dealing 80,000TJ damage. Next the Photon torpedoes strike the shields with all four finding the mark from the point blank range. this quickly collapses the shields and deals damage to the starboard wing knocking it down further to 490,167TJ. Finally the Quantum Torpedoes lash out. The first volley scouts just under the ship, but the second one hits square. All four hit the Starboard Wing, ripping the hull apart and dislodging it from the rest of the ship. Finally the
dorsal phaser hits two more shuttle craft destroying them and leaving only four in the flight.

Captain Seafort orders his ship to fire back at the Federation vessels. The first set of disruptor fire is aimed at the Defiant Class ship. Disruptor bolts hone it on the ship, and after a few moments make contact with the small craft, almost collapsing the forward shields which manage to hold. the rest of the disruptor fire is aimed at the Akira Class ship. The disruptor fire streaks toward the ship, but it appears the pirmary gunners were all killed as most of the bolts fly wide. A few manage to strike the ship knocking the starboard section down to 167,196TJ destroying the other starboard torpedo tube ant the ventral phaser array. Next the Photon Torpedoes strike, the first two volleys going wide and five more just barely missing the ship. the remaining seven hit the ship dealing damage to the port saucer, and central saucer, and destroying the Starboard saucer. the torpedoes dig deep tracts through the hull and destroy both remaining phaser arrays, and the last port facing tube.

Finally, Captain Nick orders his disruptor bolts fired at the Akira, however the range is too great for the disruptors to make.

Re: DITL Battle #8 BIG+StitchvsSeafort+Nick

Turn 6 - Conn

Captain Stitch is the first to act, he orders the ship to move into the gap between the Thor and the Vor'cha class ship, training his forward weapons on the Thor's unshielded forward sections, and it's aft weapons on the Vor'cha. The ship nimbly meneuvers into this position putting itself right on top of the Thor's remaining shuttles.

Captain Seafort see's the Defiant's actions and quickly consults with his partner. He immediately orders full reverse to get away from the Defiant Class ship and bring himself closer to the Akira Class ship.

Hoping to stay out of disruptor range, Captain Big, orders his ship into full reverse, aswell, but as fast as the Akira is, it wasn't fast enough to get out of disruptor range with the Thor comming right at it.

Finally Captain Nick gives the long awaited order, Ramming Speed. The ship quickly picks up momentum as it charges toward the tiny Defiant Class vessel. as the ship hurtles toward the small craft Captain Nick mentions something about pancakes to his XO, who shakes his head. Captain Nicks last words were recorded as today is a good day to die then.

The two ships collide with the center of the Vor'cha slamming into the aft of the Defiant. The impact quickly destroys the Vor'cha's central engineering section and the Defiants Aft section causeing both cores to breach and in a bright flash consuming the bulk of both ships and the Thor's shuttles. After the flash, two pieces of shredded hull are seen drifting away as the Vor'cha's wings seem to have barely survived the attack, however without a command center or any functioning weapons, they are just space junk.

Status Report:
Big is facing Seafort's aft, at a distance of 202,000KM.
