DITL Battle #8 Comments Thread

Post by Lt. Staplic »

Alright, here's the comments thread for the next battle:

BIG (Akira) and Stitch (Defiant) vs Seafort (Negh'Var) and Nick (Vor'cha)

Let the games begin. :happydevil:

I want the name to be Devastator... or is that a bit far from Starfleet's naming convention.?

In the tradition of Viking comparisons, I name my Negh'var the IKS Thor. In honour of the Supreme Commander of the Asgard Fleet

Regarding the ship's layout, I think the Mk 18s should be on the wings, not the head.

I'm sure they'll be honored by this... so long as you don't lose.

Should be near where the wings meet the main hull.

Also, technically, the torps on the Akira all face forward... but switching 3 to aft is fine by me.

I just pulled that out of another game added the tractor beam and transporters. Unless someone has a bug problem with it it doesn't affect the mechanics so we can just leave it

My main concern would be heavy damage to the head knocking out both my heavy guns, whereas the same damage to a wing would only knock out half of them.

The negh'var has one of the 18s on each wing and then the head has a Mk12 on it. If you lose the head, you lose all three of your heavy forward firing weapons all at once.

Alright I changed it so 2 MK12's on the head and the MK 18's moved to the wings.

Hey, if you'd chosen a Negh'var for one of these battles, would you have taken such a weak spot with equanimity?

Of course not, I'd have used this as a chance to pick a fight with you...

But really I do agree that the bulk of the Negh'vars weapons shouldn't be taken out in a single hull hit.
