DITL Battle #7 Stitch vs Seafort

Post by Lt. Staplic »

"Sir! Sensor's are showing Weapons fire, coming from the void!"

Stitch Turned to look at the young Tactical officer, about to question the sensors when the ship rocked with the impact of the weapons.

"Evasive Maneuvers! Science find out what's going on!" Stitch hells across his Bridge.

"No need sir, a ship has just decloaked, it's the Scimitar sir, they've built another one!" The Science officer reported.

"Shields up! Lock weapons before she disappears again!"
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

Turn 1 - Conn

Feeling pleased with himself for successfully getting the Leeroy's attention, Captain Seafort turns to his tactical officer and orders the ship to recloak.

Captain Stitch on the other hand is thoroughly pissed off at having his ship shot at, and yells loudly at the helmsman to gun the engines and close in on the Scimitar getting as close as is safe. Jumping at the sudden sound from the captain, the helmsman lays in the course and moves quickly across the void. Finally coming to rest just 1,000 km from the Scimitar.

Status

The two ships are facing each other approximately 1,000 km apart. The Scimitar is attempting to Cloak.

Turn 1 - Tac

After closing in on his target, Stitch turns to the tactical officer, and orders that all weapons fire, tight configurations. The Phaser arrays spring to life, shooting their deadly beams at the Scimitar, crippling the forward shields. The two photon torpedo tubes fire next spraying two tightly packed salvo's of torpedoes. The first set just miss the Dorsal shields flying over the ship and into the void of space. The second one however finds the mark. The first torpedo slams into the forward shields, which barely are able to hold. The next one overloads the forward shields and deals damage to the forward section. The last two torpedoes also slam into the forward section, destroying both disruptors. The impact from the second torpedo also causes chaos in the nearest torpedo room, causing torpedoes to fly around, killing several technicians. Finally the USS Leeroy launches it's salvo of Quantum Torps and amazingly all four of them hit in the forward section as well, destroying the forward torpedo tubes, and forcing Captain Seafort to retreat to his secondary bridge, as most of his bridge officers were killed when their console's exploded.

On the secondary Bridge Captain Seafort turns to his operations officer and demands to know the status of the cloak. The ops officer's report is another deathblow. The cloak failed to activate.

Damage Report

USS Leeroy: Full Power

USS Vespasian:
Forward Shields gone
Total Shield capacity down to 1,800,000 (each section can take 360,000)
Forward Section down to 292,250 TJ integrity
All weapons in forward section destroyed.

Turn 2 - Conn

Captain Seafort isn't willing to simply sit in space and wait for another barrage. He turns to his helmsman and orders all ahead full, trying to skim right up over the top of the Sovereign Vessel. The Helmsman responds with professional skill, moving the ship up and forward in a graceful move.

Captain Sitch turns to his Helmsman as the Scimitar begins to move, and orders that they maintain the distance and position. The Helmsman here too executes an absolutly perfect set of maneuvers, backing off at the exact same speed the Scimitar is closing on them, finally raising up slightly to try and get back on the same z-axis plane.

Status Report

The two ships are approximately 1000 km apart, with the Scimitar sitting just above the Sovereign, facing it's forward and dorsal sections, the sovereign facing the Scimitar's Forward Ventral sections.

Turn 2 - Tac

Captain Stitch, somewhat more relaxed now, turns to the Tac officer and orders all torpedoes fired. Two salvo's of photon's streak out across the void. Amazingly only the first torpedo misses, shooting under the ship. the next three all slam directly into the ventral shields. The second salvo all make contact. Two hitting the Port shields, another the Starboard, and the last following the first three into the Ventral section, so far, all shields are holding. Next come the salvo of Quantum's and again amazingly all four find the mark. The first one slams into the Ventral section, overloading the generators and dealing damage to the Central section, the next one slams into the Starboard Shields, and the third the Port. The last one slamming through the open Forward shields into the Forward section. With the ventral shields gone, Stitch orders Phaser's fired at the Aft Engineering compartment, however the phasers go wide.

The rolls have been reversed as it is now Seafort that is thoroughly pissed. He yells at the new tac officer to fire everything. The disruptors come to life, shooting wildly at the Sovereign Class Ship. They make contact with the Starboard shields, overloading the generators. Next the four remaining torpedo tubes fire in wide dispersal creating a wall of death. Three torpedoes go wide, the other five find varying targets. the first two hit the dorsal shields, the next two find the Port shields, and the last the forward. All three sections hold however.

Damage Report:
USS Leeroy
Starboard Shields Gone
Total Shield Capacity down to 3,425,000 TJ (Each section can take 685,000 TJ)

USS Vespasian:
Forward and Ventral Shields gone
Total shield capacity down to 960,000 TJ (240,000 TJ per section)
Forward Section down to 172,250 TJ integrity
Forward Section weapons destroyed (3 torpedo tubes, 2 disruptors)
Central Section down to 667,250 TJ integrity

Turn 3 Conn

Stitch issues the almost same order to the Helmsman to maintain distance, and to keep the Starboard section from being targeted. However apparently exhausted from the battle already, the helmsman just sits there, staring at the Scimitar.

Captain Seafort however is still very much on top of his crew, he orders the ship around so his shielded aft section is facing the Sovereigns unshielded Starboard section. Coming around to 270 mark 355. The ship turns about and moves forward dropping down slightly so two unshielded sections are hidden from the Sovereign.

Status:

The ships are just a little further away about 2,000 km. The Sovereigns Starboard side is facing the Scimitar's aft sections.

Turn 3 - Tac

Captain Seafort looks at the Sovereign a greedy smile covering his face. Fire it all, aim for the engineering hull, he orders. Immediately the powerful disruptor come to life, shooting bolts of energy at the ship, however all of them fly wide. The three torpedo tubes fire next, launching six photon's at the enemy ship. However en route, the Sovereign fires phasers taking three of them out. The other three all find their mark each hitting a different section of engineering.

Stitch is also grinning as his plan worked to shoot the torpedoes out of the proverbial sky half worked. Next he orders the engineering hulls phasers to fire, they lance out at the aft shields of the Scimitar. The shields look as if they're going to survive the attack, however they buckle at the last second. The tactical officer then informs stitch that the quantum turret has rotated, and Stitch orders a salvo fired. All four torpedoes hit, the aft compartments, one hitting Port engineering, another starboard, and the last two striking aft engineering.

Damage Report:
USS Leeroy
Starboard Shields Gone
Total Shield Capacity down to 3,425,000 TJ (Each section can take 685,000 TJ)

Turn 4 - Conn

Seafort turns to the conn officer and demands that the ship be rotated so that the Dorsal shields are between him and the Sovereign. He also contacts the flight officer and orders a flight prepped for launch. The officer preps and successfully launches five shuttles.

Apparently thinking the same things Stitch orders the ship rotated so his forward section is facing the Scimitar. He then orders his recently relieved Helmsman to take the captains yacht. The man preps the craft and successfully launches moving out beneath the sovereign class ship.

Status:

The ships are approximately 2,000km away with the Sovereigns Forward sections facing the Scimitar's dorsal sections. The Scimitar's shuttles are just outside the aft shuttle bay doors (beneath the craft) and the yacht is under the Sovereigns Saucer.

Turn 4 - Tac

Seafort starts things off firing off a round of disruptor fire at the small captains yacht, incinerating the craft. Another round are aimed at the Forward shields however the bolts go wide.

Angry at his inability to save the pilot, Stitch orders weapons fired at the Scimitar's large Dorsal view. The Phasers lash out striking the shields and severely weakening them, however they hold thanks to energy transfer from the Port and Starboard sections. A salvo of quantum torpedoes fire off next streaking toward the Scimitar. The first two fly wide of the ship, but the next two hit, buckling the Dorsal shields and dealing damage to the central section, and destroying the disruptors in this section. Next come two salvo's of photon torpedoes, the first one misses the hulk, however the next one lands all four torpedoes on the mark. All four slam into the Central section shutting down the EPS grid, destroying the main computer core and starting a fire in the section.

Damage Report:

Turn 5 - Conn

Seafort looks at the damage from the last range of fire, and orders the cloak be brought online. Then opening a channel with his fighter squadron orders them to take up position next to the Sovereign's unshielded starboard side. The fighters come around and quickly close on the ship, maneuvering the few thousand kilometers and taking up formation to unleash on the ship. Engineering crews also report the fires have been taken care of.

Captain Stitch simply sits there, ordering the ship to stay in the same relative position to the Scimitar, he doesn't have to go anywhere.

Status:

The ships are approximately 2,000km away with the Sovereigns Forward sections facing the Scimitar's dorsal sections. The five scorpion class fighters are poised to strike just 100 km off the Sovereign's Starboard side.

Turn 5 - Tac

the USS Leeroy opens up it with all it has on the Vespasian, knowing this may be it's last chance to do some real damage. The Phaser's lash out at the central section first, making contact an explosion rocks the ship as the section turns to dust leaving a large hole in the middle of the ship. Next come two salvos of photon torpedoes. The first four all go wide of the ship, followed by the first of the second salvo as it passes through the hole where the central section used to be. the other three find their mark however. The first slamms into the forward section, the second into the starboard wing, the and last into the port wing. The quantum torpedoes follow, and with amazing skill all four hit, two to both wings. The impact also destroys six of the wing disruptors leaving one forward disruptor on each wing.

The USS Vespesian, can't shoot while cloaking, however Captain Seafort orders that his shuttles open fire on the Leeroy's Engineering hull. The five craft open fire with their single disruptors, the first and the fourth craft hit the central engineering section, with the second one hitting the forward, and the final two hitting the aft section.

As the last torpedo hits, the entire remaining hulk of the Scimitar shimmers lightly then disappears.

turn 6 - Conn

Sitting back down in his chair Captain Stitch, looks at the empty space ahead of him. He orders the ship turned so the Fighters are no longer facing his unshielded starboard side. He then orders a flight of shuttles launched. The ship rotates around so the Ventral side is in between the shuttles. Also launching from the aft shuttle bay four Type 9 shuttles fly out.

The Scorpion Shuttles don't move an inch from their previous position, simply holding formation. The Scimitar is undetectable by any means.

Status:

The Scorpion Class shuttles are approximately 100 km away from the Sovereign's Ventral Side, the Type 9 shuttles are just 50 m outside the aft shuttle bay doors.

Turn 6 - Tac

Captain Stitch, not wanting to deal with the nuisance of the fighters any longer, orders the ventral phasers fired to take them out. With two powerful swoops through the formation, the fighters all disappear into nothingness. Next in a desperate attempt to hit the shield-less Scimitar He orders all torpedo tubes fire a wide dispersal pattern, however the Scimitar wasn't found and the torpedo's blink off into the darkness one by one.

Next Captain Seafort decides to blow his cover, and fire weapons from his concealed position. The ship shutters a few thousand meters off the Port side of the Sovereign Class ship as it begins firing the disruptors. Fortunately for the crew of the Leeroy, the gunners went on strike and none of the bolts come anywhere near the ship. the ship launches photon torpedoes next, and the Captain watches in horror as the first, second and third salvo's all miss the intended target, the last one not even coming with a hundred meters. Fortunately for the tac officer, the last salvo lands both torpedoes on the Port side shields.

Captain Stitch doesn't move his ship, he does however order Alpha flight around to sit over his unshielded starboard side. He also orders all available shuttles launched. Beta flight makes it out of the ship's aft shuttle bay with the remaining six shuttles.

The Scimitar is undetectable still holding under the cloak.
