Missing pieces of history

It is shown in the Blood and Chrome special that Silas Nash is the first commanding officer of Galactica in at least from 50 years Before the Holocaust to 40 years BCH with William Adama taking command from 6 years before the Holocaust to at least 4 years afterward. Is it at least POSSIBLE that Galactica had some commanding officers in between?
