I've got the movie at home. I'll see if I can pull a pic from that for ya later.

Alright, pretty much done. After further thought I've rejigged things a bit based on what I feel would be the easiest and most effect way to form battlegroups. The structure is now based on the square brigades I mentioned earlier, however the final orbat is small enough to provide two options - two brigades, in which case I'll add the air assault battalion, which will give a total divisional strength of about 8500 men, or three brigades, which would give no air assault battalion and a total strength of around 10600 men. A third option would be to go for three brigades plus the AA Bn, but that would push the total up to about 11300.

What say you?

Here are the orbats for the teeth arms. I've made a few adjustments since my last post, which increase the two brigade division to around 8850 men and the three brigade division to around 11500. Based on this I intend to stick to a two-brigade structure

A brigade will be formed of two armoured infantry battalions and two armoured regiments. A battlegroup will be formed of two companies and two squadrons, plus the supporting elements of the parent unit. An armoured infantry company group will consist of two platoons and one troop, while in an armoured squadron group the ratios will be reversed.

Armoured Infantry Battalion (842 men)

HQ Company (114 men)
Battalion HQ (20 men, 3 x IFV)
Company HQ (13 men, 2 x IFV, 1 x 8 ton)
Signals Platoon (24 men, 4 x APC)
Supply Platoon (27 men, 9 x 8 ton)
Medical Platoon (30 men, 4 x APC, 1 x 8 ton)

Manoeuvre Support Company (130 men)
Company HQ (13 men, 2 x IFV, 1 x 8 ton)
ATGW Platoon (45 men, 5 x IFV)

Fitter Section (10 men, 1 x APC, 1 x ARRV)
3 x Tank Troop (9 men, 3 x MBT)

Are the troops along the lines of a MEU/SOC group? Regardless I would have a dedicated Special Operations type platoon and the necessary support attached as part of your OOB and TOE along with covert insertion equipment and the like. Those types are just too useful to leave out if you plan to operate these things along the lines of an Amphibious Ready Group that just sort of patrols in peacetime waiting to handle all manner of problems that might come up and they would need their own type of kit I would imagine.

This isn't an MEU - it's a proper armoured division. Any special forces deployments would be attached as and when necessary, and configured and equipped for specific operations. Deep asked for an armoured division, and that's what I've produced.
