Quick Reply

Post by IanKennedy »

Well it's taken a while and you've asked for it a while back but we now have quick reply. At the bottom of each topic page you will now see a button 'Quick Reply'. Clicking the button will give you a simple reply button right there on the topics list page. Enjoy.

If you find it's missing from a given forum please let me know and I'll enable it.

You never cease to amaze, this is great, THANK YOU IAN!

Just a question, not badgering or anything, just curious, is there a way that it wouldn't be forced to reload the page fully, so that it would just apend the page to have the new comment on it? So that it wouldn't take as long to see the page again, or is it just slow today?

Just testing to see what the hell this thing does. Intersting.

It doesn't seem to be in the STSIM sections.

This is pretty nice
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

What are you guys talking about, and what does it do? Is this a feature that's absent from the mobil site?

Yes, it is currently absent from that layout. I will add it there at a later date. Quick reply is an option at the bottom of each topic page. You can click a button and enter some text and it will post it to the topic.

Is it possible to have an option to have the quick reply automatically open? Not that hitting a button is a big deal or anything.

Ah... what's the use of this? Seems a bit extraneous IMHO. Why not simply click 'reply'? :?

The quick reply doesn't require opening a new page to post. Hence "quick".

No, but if it can be set to always open, it is one less step. It's not by any means a necessity nor is using the standard reply really an inconvenience, but it certainly feels much faster even if the difference is negligible. And if the forum/internet/your computer is being slow, it's nice.
