Spoilers

Post by IanKennedy »

We have now added a spoiler tag to the system (see the Spoiler button on the posting page). You can use this to hide text that would otherwise spoil or otherwise give away the plot of a new film, book or other item. You use it by writing the text you wish to hide, highlight it and then hit the spoiler button. This will wrap the text in <Spoiler> </Spoiler> tags. The text between them is hidden and will appear in it's own block preceded by Spoiler: in red.

For example:

Code: Select all
test
Would appear as:
test

Yes.. and I'm fairly certain I said something months ago... But hey, it's probably a better idea to listen to the supercomputer plotting world domination.

Snape kills Trinity with Rosebud! And then it turns out they're both Tyler Durden.

I have a question, I'm sure you put a lot of work into that idea, but I think it would be easier if you could rollover it and it would appear in normal font... If you find that would be really really hard, then completely ignore the suggestion, but I've seen it like that on a few sites, and I hate highlighting over things to see them, but that may just be me.

I'll look at it for a new version in the future. Just for the record:

Time spent thinking about this 20 seconds.
Time spent implementing this 50 seconds.

Ooh, and could you throw in a strikethrough as well? It would come in useful for sarcastic jokes.

Thanks Ian, nice to know we didn't make you work too hard on it.
