Forum Commendations

Post by IanKennedy »

We are introducing a new system of commendations for users of the forum today. These commendations will recognize forum activity above and beyond that expected of members of the forum. They can be given for many reasons and a single member can earn multiple awards. Awards of this type will be rare so most members will not get one. This adds to the prestige of receiving the award. If everyone had one they wouldn't be worth having.

The first of these awards goes to Varthikes for his exhaustive work on his all-sci-fi timelines. This is a massive undertaking and works really well. It can be found here and here. For this work he has been granted 'The Daystrom Award'.

The second of these awards goes to RK_Striker_JK_5 for his work in producing reviews of all episodes. Having worked on such a thing for the main site we know how much effort goes into a work like this. In honour of this he is granted the award of 'The Daystrom Award'. The reviews can be found here.

The third and final award today goes to Teaos, for his work in managing and running the Role Playing forums. Keeping something like this on track while still allowing people to be creative is quite an achievement. Again for this he has been granted 'The Daystrom Award'. The role playing forums can be found here.

OMG!

So I went to check the mail today and there was a crate out there labeled "DITL: Daystrom award" I cracked it open and... booze and strippers.

Thank you, makes all the writers cramp from typing out all those pages worth it, hell booze and strippers make everything worth it.

:DITL:

Yeah....about those strippers. We kinda forgot to put air holes on the crate. Is that a problem?
The booze should still be alright, though.

Congrats to all three, you've earned them. :)

Agreed - all three pieces of work show an exceptional degree of effort, Striker's and Varthikes' demonstrate hours of research at the very least, and the fact that Teaos' Daystrom RP is still going strong despite the nause Blackstar caused is nothing short of remarkable. Hearty congratulations all three of you. :)

Thank you. :) Although DRL and being sick has robbed me of the time necessary to finish even TOS.
