Interestingly enough, now that I'm back from DisneyWorld I have to say that my favorite float in the Electric Light Parade was the giant demon-thingy from the "Night on Bald Mountain" segment of Fantasia.

My daughter is 4. The biggest highlights for me were taking her around and seeing her reactions. However, she did nap a little so I got to go on a few rides, including "Mission: Space" in Epcot. Now, I'm a roller coaster junkie - went on Kingda Ka, the tallest and fastest coaster int he world, but I have to tell you that Mission: Space was incredible. You get sealed into a "spaceship" cockpit at one of five positions, with a vid screen ("windshield") in front of you - you get tilted and angled alogn with the display you see - see you angle backwards as you stare up the launch gantry, etc. Then, the entire ride is a centrifuge, so you feel real g-forces as you "launch," maneuver, etc. Plus, you have to engage certain controls based on your position - pilot, navigator, commander, engineer. Very cool.

You've got some catching up to do, Mikey. Maybe you can convince Rochey to go on vacation...

That wouldn't stop Rochey. French keyboards may slow him down, but nothing can stop Rochey's spammage. :P

Damn straight. Even being stuck in the forsaken lands of France did not keep me from spamming in any way I could.

I'm not a long drive from the same theme park where Kingda Ka is located, but haven't been there in years. Since my father's started taking me to Mets (baseball) games instead for the summers, those have replaced the trips we used to make to Six Flags in the summer. I do enjoy the coasters, though.

Welcome back!

Thanks. I'm about a 20-minute drive from Six Flags/Great Adventure, and was itching to go on Kingda Ka since they built it. For two straight years I'd been going and getting denied - a bolt sheared, or a mannequin was beheaded during a test, or some other crap. Finally, I got on line (alone - my daughter's too young and my wife's too yellow) and got on immediately, as there was a single-rider opening in the very front of the train. It was every bit as intense as you may imagine.

What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.
