nemesis almost killed it, to me (in the box office, it was a decent film for me)

I think it was really Nemesis. Enterprise certainly didn't help.
Trek fatigue was really it. Nonstop Trek from 1987 to 2005. Four series, five movies during that time frame. With at times two series on at the same time.
I blame Voyager. Incoherent series that never lived up to expectations and ended up being TNG.
