Best Trek Movie Moment 1: The Motion Picture

Post by Varthikes »

What do you think is the best moment in The Motion Picture?

I'm having technical difficulty with the poll. It's not letting me add more options...

Haven't seen that film in years. The only part that sticks in my mind is option number 3.

Absolutely. The Klingon attack is memorable only as an historical footnote as the first appearence of the ridged foreheads, and the Kholinar basically involved Spock and a few others standing around doing sod-all.

I actually like the bit at the end where Decker and the Ilia probe merge with V'Ger. The effects are wonderful and the music is great. it's kinda peaceful, the whole ascending to heaven thing....

Althought Decker probably died horribly when we weren't watching...

And what about other things, like Decker's friction with Kirk, or Spock arriving by shuttle, or Spock's journey into V'Ger, the death of Sovak and Lori in the transporter?

Good points, especially the Decker/Kirk interaction.

But did you really think that a horrificly lethal transporter accident was a high point?
