So I had an idea for a new type of storyline. This time it would not be about the Federation, or Starfleet, or even its allies for that matter. It would revolve around 2 people who don't serve as Starfleet, but rather policemen who enforce the law in the Federation (think that Starfleet security guy who arrested McCoy in Star Trek III).
Take the Lethal Weapon movies for example. Try to imagine that if it were happening in the Star Trek universe. ^_^

You don't need our permission to write.

I thank you for that reassurance, and that was NOT sarcasm, but I wasn't trying to get permission to write it. I was simply trying to run it by a few people to see what they think of the concept in the first place.Mikey wrote:You don't need our permission to write.

Give a man a fire, and you keep him warm for a day. SET a man on fire, and you will keep him warm for the rest of his life...

Re: Starfleet Police
Star Cops is actually pretty good. The budget and production values of the time REALLY show, but if you can ignore that it's actually pretty smart and well made. It's pretty hard sc-fi - for instance it's all zero gravity, apart from one or two places big enough to have spin gravity. There are no ray guns, no aliens, no wormholes or quantums. The crime of the week is more likely to be a company cutting costs by shortchanging safety inspections than space pirates. There's even a crooked cop - and she ends up working for the good guys, too.
