Least Favorite Ship Classes

Post by Talondor »

About a year ago I started a thread asking for everyone's favorite ship classes. This time put up your least favorite/most hated ship designs. This one was alot harder to make then the other one. The Federation has come up with some pretty ugly designs over the years.

Cardassian Galor Class.
Constellation Class
Ambassador Class
Ferengi D'Kora Class
Norway, Sabre, Steamrunner Classes (The Akira was the only good one to come out of that movie. These three were just plain ugly)

I'm assuming we're skipping the horrific DS9/Wolf 359 kit-bashes so we don't all have the same list.

Federation Class
Steamrunner
Enterprise J
The giant Klingon BoPs from The Defector
Soyuz Class
Borg Yacht
The Klingon BoP from Enterprise

Norway,
Interestingly, I quite like those ones.

I like the Steamrunner. It's... a sports car.

Booo to the Oberth.

The Olympic and Daedalus with their ball fronts, blah.

The Centaur looks oddly skinny and long. Lanky...

I agree with him on Ambassador, ugly half ship.

There was a Enterprise J? Do not recall that one.

It was the ship Archer was transported to by Daniels in the future in Azati Prime.

For me... I'm gonna go with the Constellation class. The saucer rim is super-thick, which makes it look unwieldy and clumy. I rarely much like ships with little or no engineering hull, so there's that. And four nacelles don't bother me, but Nacelles that look like Constitution ones just turned on their sides... all in all, the whole look of the thing just doesn't sit well with me.

Constellation I do no mind as it is a true kit bash and it's original.

Not a fan of Steamrunner or Norway

I rather like the Steamrunner

I always wished we'd seen one featured in an episode - would have been perfect instead of the Centaur, say. Far rather see a new cool design in use than yet another kitbash.

Speaking of kitbashes, the Yeager class...

Never saw that series. Always meant to just never got around to it.

Just saw a picture of it. And my first impression was a stick figure of a fat guy... a big circle body with matchstick legs.

The Constellation looks even more kitbashy than some of the actual kitbashes!

Anyway, put me down as another for the Oberth. Who the hell thought that was a good design? Seriously?!

What's wrong with the Oberth? It's a crap warship, but that's to be expected of something that was never intended as one.

I wasn't talking about it as a warship, just generally. The two sections are connected by thin pylons that look like they've barely got enough room for a ladder or for even moderate traffic back and forth.
