Concept Art from the Star Trek Series That Never Was

Star Trek: Phase 2 that is.

Back in 1977, Paramount began production on a new live-action Star Trek series called Star Trek: Phase II. The idea was eventually scrapped in favor of making The Motion Picture. But Mike Minor had already completed concept art for a revamped interior for the Enterprise.

A few of the scripts for Phase II were reworked for The Next Generation and the Phase 2 series of fan films, but a lot of what Minor created for the original Phase II exists only in his concept art. Above is the Enterprise's bridge (which would be used for The Motion Picture). Below are the rec room, captain's quarters, engineering, and what looks like a cargo hold. (Warning: some aspects of these designs are very 70s).

Its an odd mix of the reboot trek and the 70's...
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Do we know what time period phase 2 was supposed to take place in?
How many Minbari does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

Same as the original, but a second 5 year mission.

Click this link to see how it would have been, and how it tied in to the first movie.
