Ethically wont happen that fast.
What does defeat mean to you?

Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Expect a resistance to form...

...and, sign me up for it.

Calm down guys, this is the prediction of an "expert" from the same company that can't make Chrome fill in an auto-fill text box properly.

Kurzweil is bona fide; he knows his stuff. I've been following his career for years, and his theories even closer. He might be wrong on when, but he's not wrong about the potential to do it.

I have no doubt about the theoretical potential; the actuality, with all the fiscal and practical prerequisites that entail, is a completely different story.

It's like fusion power. It'll be in here 50 years, every year.

Then it'll be here eventually then. Fusion might have been 50 years away 60 years ago, but it's only 15-20 years away now. Progress.

I want my power laces, dammit!

And slightly more seriously, one cybernetic enhancement from fiction that has ALWAYS squicked me out is anything too invasive, mentally speaking. A wi-fi connection in your head? Count me OUT!
