Don't worry Rochey I'll always be here to disagree with you.Okay, this is getting scary. Am I slowly turning each of you into clones of myself, or something?
What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Of course it was, you just weren't supposed to know about it!Mikey wrote:What, like that wasn't your plan?
That's probably a safe bet.Actually, you're not turning us into clones - we just know that if there is a knock against Federation starship design, then you MUST have said or thought it already.
Oh, I know.Teaos wrote:Don't worry Rochey I'll always be here to disagree with you.

I kind of like this idea. Makes sense, an initial burst to overload the shield, secondary to do the damage. Not too dissimilar to some conventional bombs.Deepcrush wrote:I would think the idea is to overload the shields in one small section and then damage the target before the shields come back online.
Don't you hear my call, though you're many years away, don't you hear me calling you?

Which wouldn't be unheard of. Multiple shield generators would be better than just one big one, no?Mikey wrote:It does make sense, as long as each individual shield generator covers only a relatively small surface area.

I had always assumed that there were multiple generators. I had just sort of envisiones them as covering more area apiece than they would if the "overload hypothesis" is in fact how damage gets through the shields.
