He was just...unpleasant or grating to me.
That's what I was fumbling for :)

Eddington would have worked better if he'd have been charismatic and handsome....the audience was built up to believe he was just one of the guys and then he is revealed to be Maquis and you, the viewer, then have a dilemma as to whether you can like him anymore. Even though you feel sorry for him and may agree with what he's fighting for, you're tempered by the fact that he's now technically a bad guy.

I think he could have been a much better character had he been cast differently...

I liked Eddingtopn, its almost Cliche for the bad/morally right guy to be almost likeable but still on the srong side. He was what the marquis needed to get the job done.

Like I said, I like the idea of Eddington. The problem I had was with the execution of the character.

But I think they did choose that character, sure he could have been slicker, but thats not what the Marquis was. I think he fit the bill for what they were better than a more rounded character.

I wasn't looking for "slicker" or "more rounded." Eddington was more than unctuous enough. I think more pragmatic and less prone to travel with his own soapbox would have been fine.

Ro Laren was nicely rounded.

That's just Sport's style. He managed to even make Seven a healthier girl than she naturally is.
