Trek roleplay game ideas.

Post by colmquinn »

I'm going to be running the old Star Trek roleplay game (1984 vintage) in the near future for a group of friends and have a couple of short stories set up but would like to get a few more ideas or situations to include. They're familiar with the trek universe in varying degrees but not really in depth knowledge and I want to ease them in gradually. I'm planning on running a variation of the the old Horta on the mining colony story first (as they've mostly alll seen the episode at some stage in their lives) but would like some input and tips if any of you have played/ run it before.

First, bring them to DITL and have them read what is here. Second, put up your plans and stories and we'll go over them with you to help you build it all up.

Sweet, thanks for the offer. I'll not fill a forum with my ideas but rather PM you or some of the guys with basics of my stuff and let you critique. Its not gonna happen for a couple of weeks yet but I'd obviously appreciate the help.
But I can't throw, I throw like a geek!

Just finashed our first Star Trek role play mission and it went very well. It was one published in White Dwarf called Starfall. Klingons trying to cause disruption on a federation colony in the organian imposed neutral sector.
Players took to it like ducks to water, though with them having had experience with Call of Cthulhu adventures in the past meant that they were methodical and used to spotting potential leads and when to discount them (even if it was a relatively straight forward scenario).
There're a few more I have that guys haven't played/ read so no real panic on the making new stories as we only get to play once a week for 3 to 4 hours.
I do plan on making a large scale operation for future use but like I said thats for the future.
But I can't throw, I throw like a geek!
