Ugly? I suppose you're more of an authority on it than I am but I'd have pegged him as plain more than anything.
Re: Favourte recurring characters?
Yeah, but Tom had some backstory. A failed Starfleet officer, and an ex maquis. He was also an interm field medic, and had some "attitude". Mayweather's claim to fame was he was a space boomer. Nothing else to work with..............

They look like Phyllis Diller,

Yeah, missed opportunity with Travis, and that's coming from an ENT fan. They could've had him be the one with more experience than half the crew put together.
Anyway... Shran, Harry Mudd, Helen Noel, Gowron, Hugh.

I'll have to say Shran and Hugh, Shran was a good character, Hugh was just really cool.

Barclay by far, though if Garak counts (I'd almost classify him and Dukat slightly differently, due to their huge amount of appearances. Sort of like Guinan) he wins.
Don't you hear my call, though you're many years away, don't you hear me calling you?
Re: Favourte recurring characters?
Barclay was definetly the best, I will second him.

Re: Favourte recurring characters?
Updated original post. I support Gowron, and I nominate Martok. I will continuously update the OP with contestants and nominees. I've included the characters that appear really often like Garak and Gul Dukat because they were never mentioned in the main title. That's my rules, dont like it or disagree, tough.
I am also going to nominate Damar.

Shran, Vash and Dr. Leah Brahms...
Susan Gibney, who played Leah Brahms, also played Erika Benteen in a couple of DS9 episodes...

Ah yeah Martok is awesome.
What does defeat mean to you?
Nothing it will never come. Death before defeat. I don’t bend or break. I end, if I meet a foe capable of it. Victory is in forcing the opponent to back down. I do not. There is no defeat.

Tain.
The attack on the founders homeworld was bold and might have succeeded if it wasn't discovered before hand.
He also exiled and then tried to off his own son. What a guy.

Oh oh oh! Boothby! I always loved that character. Not a huge character but part of Trek tapestry

the affection of children...to leave the world a better place...to
know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is
to have succeeded.”
