Ugliest ship designs

Post by Sionnach Glic »

Similar to Lighthawk's thread. :)

So, nominate the worst ships ever to have appeared in a Trek movie/episode. You can nominate multiple ships. Each ship nomination must be seconded by two people to become a contestant. Once we have up to ten contestants, we'll hold a poll.

So, get nominating for the worst ship designs in Trek!

Title changed for extra clarity - Seafort

Do you mean aesthetically, then you should probably rename the thread to "most ugly ship" or something similar because I also had the feeling that some did not quite get that the rating was purley from an aestetic point of view.

Be that as it is I nominate the:

Defiant Class.

Though little ship but imho it a, doesn't look good and b, doesn't fit into the universe. Give her another paint job and you have just another alien of the week-ship.

Just look at all the beauty shots of a federation fleet you'll notice that she doesn't seem to belong to neither alliance power. Considering her form paint her brown and she would pass for an cardassian ship.......

Also I'd like to nominate:

Prometheus Class.

Because what you basically have is a star destroyer with four warp nacelles....and that is before the crappy mvam......way to go designers........wtf is wrong with a saucer? I don't want my UFP ships with a triangular hull.

Yes, it's meant on aesthetics. I figured that was clear enough.

Well, that is not at all that clear since one could consider the galaxy class a beautiful ship, but a bad design or the Excelsior and excellent design but an rather ugly looking ship.

Lighthawk's thread was based on aesthetics. I mentioned in the OP that it was of similar concept to Lighthawk's. Therefore I figured people would get what I'm aiming for.

Excluding the Frankensteins, I'd say the GCS - that thing is way too top-heavy.

Yeager!!!!

NX-01

I'll second the Keldon specifically - the Galor itself is decent, but I don't like that bloody great coffin they stuck on it.

I'll nominate the Norway class:

And if the Frankenstein fleet is included, then I'll nominate the Shelley class:

I'll second the Norway. I also wish to second the D'Deridex. It's like a bloated bird with neck problems.

Yeager class. The only canon Starfleet design I'd call ugly.
