Hmmm. Steal the wife of the leader of your most powerful enemy. Not great strategy in my book.

But, mine is probably the wrong book, anyway.
He stole a lot of women.

Still, great military mind: check. Crap technology: check.

It works.

How did the Kingdom of Israel have crap tech? It has to be judged in relation to its contemporaries, not to the modern US Army's kit. Bronze Age weapons vs. Bronze Age weapons.

Okay then; a better example would be Crazy Horse. Lesser tech, but a superior military mind. :)

I'd buy that. His only downfall was overestimating the honor and decency of the white man, and underestimating his deviousness.

What was that one's name in Florida during the early 19th or late 18th century? Something Turtle? United all the southern Appalachian tribes down into Spanish florida. Now he was an interesting guy, really wish I could remember his name.

None. They always surrender right before they finish the job and never tell you why.

I suppose it could be. I also think that you know more about native american tribal chiefs and warlords than I do.

Yes, the based-on-truth story of Jake LaMotta, and one of the great films of all time. You know, before Joe Pesci became a slapstick foil.

There was a Little Turtle, but he was Old Northwest Territories and as far as I know didn't have influence that far south.

I know what your talking about, he united the seven tribes and they were able to successfully harass the US enough that they just left them alone rather than force them onto a reservation.
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.
