I hope you can all take me at face value (I'll scan if I must), but I just found (after looking for weeks) a notebook from Spring/Fall of 2007, containing some of my pointless ramblings and plot points for the novel idea I'd had in my head for years.
In this story, Gavin Malkar (as referenced in some of the "writers forum" posts), the story's protagonist, was aboard a science ship that discovered stable subspace tunnels in a region of space, leading to the Delta QUadrant, Gamma Quadrant, etc... In the exploration of these, our heroes find how the Borg have been getting to the Alpha Quad and also explained the disappearance of the NX-02 Columbia.
I'd have to say the odds of this are pretty astronomical that they'd match up SO closely with Destiny, which obviously didn't come out til a significant time later (nor did I read Greater Than The Sum, etc). This isn't to brag or say "oooh look at me", but if anything I'm quite proud that I came up with a plotline so remarkably similar to such a wonderful trilogy. It gives me hope I could actually create an intelligent storyline.
Sorry to rant/pat myself on the back, but it's the little bit of excitement my week has had.

I smell potential profit.............dammit, I'm stereotyping again, aren't I?

Unless he published the plot online, there's no way for it to have been plagerised. Short of the author burgling his house, of course.

Or if the author had access to the government's mind-reading satellites.

Oh I'm not accusing anyone. If anything, it makes me happy that I actually relate to the books. Nothing fishy, just really happy.
