Truth to tell, aside from visiting Pearl harbor, it was my least favorite part of Hawai'i. Of course, I didn't know Mark back then to show me the hot spots...

True...........I live smack dab in the middle of Honolulu, and avoid it like the plague when I'm off to relax. The North Shore has the world famous beaches, and IMO better eats than in Waikiki. Waikiki is just TOOOO touristy. Of course the hot chicks in bikinis are always a plus. But North Shore has hot SURFER chicks :Drool1:

I would take Maui or Kauai over Oahu. I was there in August, so we didn't get to see the real winter swells on the North Shore.
